Hi, Welcome to our club!

Any and all Christians are welcome here- and of course friends who are not of the same faith! This is deffinantly an all around Christian club! I would just as soon affiliate with Baptists, catholics, adventists, Protestants, any Christian clubs, and even non-Christian if they are so inclined (so long as they were not in opposition to Christians, or have come to degrade or be cruel toward them)

I'd like for all of God's children, in their many different understandings and beliefs to be able to talk, not debate, and be able to learn from each other, about one another, and study if they like. Also, to enjoy each other's artistic gifts. A place where people can enjoy art work of good subject matter, as opposed to alot of the evil you see in day to day life.
I wanted a place where people could have a more indepth study together. Alot of public groupings of christians seemed a bit vague. They mostly talked about their love, which is wonderful, but not really the word-- which is very important to God.

PRAYER WARRIOR

Please read this. I'm really desperate to get help for my friend. Most of this may sound very strange or disturbing, but I have to get help for this person.

This is what's been happening:

One of my best friends on DA has had some really bad things going on through his entire life. It says in the Bible that demons are real, but I never thought I'd talk to one... twice.

I've been IMing him on Yahoo for quite a while now and we usually have a great time. We even talk about God and what he does for us. But, at one time, just out of no where he started cursing me and cursing me. (I will leave those details out, for they are very disturbing... to me, at least, to see my friend do that to me.) I called on the name of God and he came back to life, so to speak.

A month or two has passed and now, he has done it again. But, each time he has said that it wasn't him, but a demon. This time, he didn't snap out of it. Now, I'm greatly worried... My prayer alone is good, but I remembered the Christian clubs and memebers here on DA and how the Bible says prayer in numbers is much more powerful. Now I'm calling out to you all, please pray for him.

I haven't enclosed his name to protect his name, but if you must know, I will tell you who it is. Please, I beg of you all, pray for his freedom to whatever may be causing him to act in such a way.

A friend mine's sister was recently in an accident. She is currently in the hospital on life support. She's doing a little better than she was, and the doctors say that if she keeps improving at this rate, she could make a recovery. So far the prayers are doing wonderful things! She's only 17, so please, keep her in your prayers, thanks!

Today's study: Further Study
(please review the past 6 lessons)

1) The concept of identity is powerful. Human beings want to belong to something. Unfortunatley, there is a natural tendency to deem one's group, be it racial, national, religious (or any combination thereof) as superior to others. This, of course, can lead to bigotry and even subtle forms of prejudice. The earlier followers of Jesus weren't immune to this problem. We, no doubt, aren't either. What can we learn from Jesus that can change this sinful trait, which, unless checked, manifests itself in all of us?

Summary: It is easier to believe in a Messiah who will lead a vitorious army and bring freedom and full stomachs than one whose path leads to Calvary. Jesus was not the Messiah of popular expectation. His badge was a cross, not a crown. And He was God's Messiah for everybody, not just for the Jews. The disciples had much to learn and a great deal to unlearn. We see Jesus patiently attempting to set their thinking straight, as the shadow of the Cross begins to loom.
